Talton joined the team in August 2025 after relocating from Maryland with his wife, Hayden, their two children, Leroy and Gemma, and their dog, Rufus. Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Talton played baseball at Brunswick Community College and the University of Mount Olive, where he earned a degree in Criminology. He then served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Boston and San Francisco. 

After leaving the Coast Guard in 2018, Talton earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. He began his career in athletics as an Event Manager at Stanford University, overseeing home game operations. For the past four years, he served as Junior Golf Director and later Director of Foundation Programs for the Middle Atlantic PGA Section. 

Outside of work, Talton enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, and cheering for the Tar Heels.
