These character education programs are offered at golf courses, schools, and community centers throughout our service area.
Job Description
The role of the Outreach Coach is to support the Director of Education & Outreach in all aspects of First Tee – Triangle’s Community Partnership programs. Our programs take place at local schools, community centers, and local golf courses. Duties include coordinating with partners, program set-up, driving participants in our passenger van to and from site locations, and coaching lessons. Coaches utilize the First Tee coaching methodology to help young people become responsible citizens. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Pursue First Tee Coach Training and continuing education opportunities
- Promote and live by First Tee’s Key Commitments
- Lead assigned classes and follow the curriculum
- Actively engage, assist, and mentor participants
- Maintain positive, professional, and friendly relationships with families and facilities
- Communicate regularly with Director Education & Outreach
- Promote diversity, equity and inclusion among stakeholders
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and work in a variety of environmental conditions
- Ability to operate a van safely and pass a driving test with First Tee – Triangle staff
- Must have reliable transportation, pass a national background check, and complete safety course
- Adhere to and model established policies, procedures, and practices of First Tee – Triangle
Education and Experience:
- Must pass National Background check and child safety training requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and clean driving record.
